Hush Hush Sweet Harlot is a music series started by Sidney Alexis in the
fall of 2003. Jason (Jay) Boucher took over the bookings in January 2007. The booking resposibilities were then handed to Tristan Law at the start of April 2010. In 2011 Jonathan Frazer Lessard began handling booking duties for Hush Hush and added another night of live music on Thursdays known as Local Heroes. As of the beginning of 2013 Blake Seale has taken over booking Local Heroes shows and Cresta Smith will be booking the Hush Hush nights.The purpose of the series is to provide a smaller venue for music in the NH Seacoast. Manager Cresta Smith has created an atmosphere that is mysterious, historic, and dreamy - making it the perfect room to absorb the quieter side of indie-rock, alternative, jazz, and americana. 
Each Monday night, the series brings in artists from the Northeast along
with national touring acts traveling through Boston, Portland, & Montreal.Over the last few years we’ve had John Vanderslice, Jason Anderson, Tigersaw, Unbunny, Jana Hunter, Soltero, Seekonk, Jon Nolan, Sandro Perri, Eric Chenaux, Nate Laban, James Blackshaw, Nat Baldwin, Noa Babyoaf, Charalambides, Lucy Wainwright Roche, Stephen Brodsky, Sharron Kraus, Feathers, Barn Burning, The Places, Elsa Cross, and Phantom Buffalo to list just a few. 
Shows start around 8pm and there is a small five dollar suggested donation going right to
the performers…This has been an amazing last 5 years for us with lots of great performances and awesome write ups in Pitchfork, The Phoenix, Northeast Performer Magazine, Portsmouth Herald Spotlight, and The Wire.
